Quick start
From the invitation to a guest watching TV in a room β about an hour for the first room, then minutes for each room after it. Every step says what you should see when it is done; a short video shows most of them.
What you need
- LG commercial TVs (webOS, hotel mode) on a network that reaches the internet.
- A phone with a camera, to scan the TV's setup code.
- The invitation to the console (an email) β it makes you the site's administrator. The console is at pcr-console.pages.dev.
- Optional: your PMS (Mews, Apaleo, or any PMS that can send a web request), and the channel list of a TV that already has your channels (its TLL file).
1. Sign in and add your team
Open the invitation, choose a password and sign in. Then invite your colleagues yourself in Settings β Staff β Invite a colleague, with the areas each needs β the front desk Operations, the person who installs TVs Devices, whoever edits what guests see Content (Areas and roles, Staff).
Done when your colleagues can sign in and see their menus.
2. Rooms and room types
In Settings β Property β Room types, add your room types (Deluxe, Suite β¦) with a photo and a few lines β guests see them before arrival. Then add the rooms in Rooms & floors: number, floor, type (Rooms & floors). With Mews or Apaleo, read the rooms and types from the PMS instead (PMS).
Done when Guest Operations β Rooms lists every room.
3. Install the first TV
- In TV Manager β TVs, find the room and press Add TV β the first step shows the address to give the TV (Adding a TV).
- On the TV, open the hotel setup (installer menu) and set that address as the start page, then restart the TV (TV installation).
- The TV shows a setup code; scan it with your phone, pick the room, and confirm.
Done when the TV restarts into the hotel's welcome screen and TV Manager β TVs shows it On.
4. The look
In Content Manager β Templates, open the template that is deployed to all rooms and press Edit look β change the colours, the logo, the photos, the greeting β and Publish changes. For a new look, New app template by AI: upload your logo and a few photos and answer a few questions (Templates). Deploy sends a template to all rooms, to room types or to single rooms.
Done when the TV shows your logo and photos.
5. Channels and apps
In Content Manager β Watch:
- Channels β import the TLL file of a TV that already has your channels, or add channels by hand; icons are found for you (Channels).
- Apps β Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video and Google Cast are listed; turn on the ones you offer. Some need a token from the app company (Smart Apps).
- Movies β upload MP4 files if you take the Movies add-on (Movies).
Done when the TV's Live TV and Apps screens show your channels and apps.
6. A test stay
In Guest Operations β Rooms, press Check in on the test room and enter a name. The TV greets the guest. Scan the QR code on the TV with a phone: the guest app opens, connected to the room β try the remote, a channel and a request (Check-in, The guest's phone). Then Check out.
Done when the phone controlled the TV, and check-out turned the TV's screen off.
7. Connect your PMS (optional)
In Settings β Integrations β PMS:
- Mews or Apaleo β add the connection, read the rooms, register the webhook (PMS).
- Any other PMS β the Open PMS API tab β Connect Any PMS (Open PMS API), and give the webhook address to whoever runs your PMS, with the Open PMS API guide.
- No PMS β reservations in Guest Operations β Reservations, and daily automatic check-in and check-out (Local).
Done when a test reservation checked in from the PMS appears in Rooms.
8. Every other room
Install the other TVs the same way β or import a list of TVs and rooms (Many TVs at once). Every TV gets the room's template, channels and apps by itself.
Done when TV Manager β TVs shows every room with its TV.
9. Keep watch
The Dashboard checks every TV every 15 minutes and opens an issue when one is offline or an app is not activated; Report a problem files what the checks cannot see. Release notes are in What's new.
